Youth Summit

This year, we’re thrilled to be uplifting a Youth Summit at the Annual Gathering! The intention of the Youth Summit is to center young people’s voices in the movement to cultivate justice, fight climate change, and build resilience through transforming our food system.

What to Expect

Youth (ages 14-24) can expect to connect with a group of peers, movement leaders, and mentors throughout the day while attending all sessions and programming.

How to Get Involved

The Youth Summit at the Annual Gathering is being stewarded by a coalition of community organizations who work on youth engagement across San Diego County’s food system. This program is part of long-term, collaborative efforts to cultivate a deep well of support and rich, impactful opportunities for youth to influence our region’s food system, cultivate careers in food, and connect to their power as the next generation shaping our collective future.

The Youth Summit was started as an opportunity for young people already currently in relationship with this coalition. To build a new relationship and learn about registration and getting involved, please reach out to Lakisha McZeal, Community Engagement Manager, at lakisha@sdfsa.org.
