  • The Gathering is for everyone. Whether you produce, prepare, distribute, serve, or simply love to eat or learn about food, you’re likely to attend a session or make a connection at the Annual Gathering that will be valuable to you.

  • San Diego County Food Vision 2030 (https://sdfoodvision2030.org/) is the work of 3,000 San Diegans, and serves as a shared vision, plan, and movement for transforming our region’s food system. The Annual Gathering is a yearly opportunity to come together as we work on implementing its 10 objectives.

  • Last year, the theme of the Gathering was “kinship.” This year’s theme is “cooperation.” Our foodways are made possible by an astounding web of relations. What would it look like to center kinship in our systems once more? Learn more about this theme and its Indigenous roots on the event website.

  • Explore the full day's schedule here! Doors open at 8am, and programming begins at 9am. The final session concludes at 4pm, with a short post-event social hour to follow. Sessions are still being developed and will be published with speaker names and bios on the event website soon.

  • Volunteer opportunities and scholarships are available. Please visit the Volunteer and Scholarships pages on the event website for details. Scholarships can cover the cost of admission, travel expenses, and missing a day of work to attend the event!

  • Yes, live Spanish interpretation will be available for the Opening Ceremony and select sessions. Apologies, we cannot provide interpretation in other languages at this time. When you register for the Gathering, please indicate whether you’d like to be connected to Spanish interpreters at the event. Our team will be in touch with details.

    Session titles and descriptions will also be available in Spanish.

  • Yes, complimentary onsite childcare services will be available. Please indicate when you register whether you’d like to use this service. Our team will be in touch with details.

  • The event will not be live streamed. Sessions will be recorded and made available to the public following the event. Watch last year's sessions here.

  • Yes! As always, we are planning a special menu for this year’s Gathering, celebrating the producers, chefs, and food business owners of our region. Breakfast, coffee, tea, lunch, and snacks are included for every attendee. Details about this year’s menu will be posted soon.
